Personal Safety Presentation (Grades K-5)

KidSmartz Overview
KidSmartz™ is a child safety program that educates families about preventing abduction and empowers kids in grades K-5 to practice safer behaviors. This program teaches the four rules of personal safety: I will always check first with a parent; I will take a friend; I will tell people no; and I will tell my trusted adult.

This program rethinks the term “Stranger Danger,” as most children are abducted by someone they know, and instead focuses on teaching children to identify and respond to threatening situations.

An officer will engage the children through discussion, quizzes and animated videos. This presentation takes approximately 30 minutes and requires a video/audio setup.

Online Safety Education (Grades 2-5)Into the Clouds

NetSmartz “Into the Cloud™” is an episodic web series that features well-known NetSmartz characters Clicky, Nettie, and Webster, and introduces new characters to new adventures to help illustrate the modern challenges kids are facing online. This program empowers children to take an active role in solving problems safely, engages children and adults in two-way conversations about safety and risky behaviors, and encourages children to report unsafe behaviors or victimization.

An officer will engage the children through discussion, quizzes and animated videos. This presentation takes approximately 45 minutes and requires a video/audio setup.
